Can't install PSPP 1.0.1 on windows 7

Hello,



I tried to install the PSPP version 1.0.1 on a windows 7 computer. First I
used the windows installer “pspp-20170909-daily-64bits-setup” from
“http://pspp.awardspace.com/”. The installation finished successfully but I
cannot find the program anywhere on my computer afterwards. I didn’t change
anything during the installation, so it should be in C:\Program Files\PSPP,
but there is nothing. I tried to search for “PSPP” on my computer, but I
could not find anything.

So I tried the installer “pspp-20170909-daily-32bits-setup”, but there is
the same problem.



Can you please tell me what I can do to install PSPP on my computer?



I am using Windows 7 Professional Version 6.1.7601 Service Pack 1 Build
7601, 64 Bit

Dear Ms Baumgart,

I installed the PSPP version you are talking about on my Windows 10
machine in September last year and encountered no such problem. The same
is true for a test installation on my old Windows Vista computer that I
ran last week. I doubt that Windows 7 machines respond totally different
to the installation of the same version of PSPP.

Because you work at a commercial institute you may have tried to install
PSPP on a computer at your workplace. In Germany it is not unusual that
users of company computers only have restricted access to their
computers. Maybe you do not have the full rights of an administrator of
your computer and this could be the reason why the installation didn't
seem to work and you didn't find PSPP on your computer.

If you haven't checked this possibility yet you should contact the IT
personnel at your institute and ask for assistance.

Hi Nadja,

I have exactly the same configuration , and PSPP last version runs
smoothly. So, I would install it a second time and manually change and
rechange the installation path.

Are you sure you see the system folders in Windows Explorer ?

If PSPP is installed without administrator rights it will be installed
local for only that user. However it should be fully functional.
At the start of the installation you get a question where to install PSPP
and a default path is displayed.
